The Lady Vanishes, giclee, 2012
This charcoal is another in the series of the large theater drawings. He began using the titles on the marquees as suggestions for what could be happening within the drawing. In this piece, The Lady Vanishes, 1992, the lady walking by the theater is loosely indicated. She is both indiscreet and/or vanishing…the heaviness of the drawing beneath the marquee adds to the mystery, and gives an ethereal quality to the piece.
