Strangers on a Train, giclee, 2012

Sometimes the images Bunkall worked from were black and white photographs. Many of his drawings reflect these value studies. In the charcoal drawing, Strangers on a Train, 1992, he portrayed a depth and gravity without the use of color. Considered to be some of his strongest works on paper, these theaters were rendered on site, with charcoal and eraser, followed by finishing touches in the studio.
